Undergraduate degree progress resources

ASU and the Herberger Institute provide students with resources to help manage their progress to completing their degree.  Learn more about each of these resources.

Students starting with ASU in Spring 2025 or prior have a Major Map for their degree that lists out all of the degree requirements and has a sequence to follow.  Students starting with ASU in Summer 2025 or later have a Curriculum checksheet that similarly lists all degree requirements but does not show a sequence to follow.

The Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS) is the official degree progress tracking tool that ASU uses to analyse if a student has met all degree requirements in order to graduate.  DARS tracks real-time progress toward your degree.  DARS is able to factor in the courses you have already completed, the courses you are currently in, as well as any future classes you have enrolled in but haven’t begun yet.

Because this is the official resource that determines if a student graduates, this is the most critical tool to understand.  Please review: What is DARS and how do I use it?

For students starting in Summer 2025 or beyond who do not have a Major Map, we have built Flow Charts to visualize the sequence to complete degree requirements.  Some degrees are more flexible where a few courses build on each other sequentially.  Some degrees are less flexible with many sequenced courses; in some cases the sequence is 8 semesters (4 years) long; this may impact transfer students seeking to complete their degree quicker than 4 more years.  We encourage students to review the Flow Charts. Select your school below to find your major's Flow Chart based on your assigned Catalog Year (usually your start year). If there is no link, your Flow Chart is still in process and will be added at a later date when it’s complete.
